Role Overview:
The Tender Manager will be responsible for managing the complete tender lifecycle, including opportunity identification, qualification, proposal preparation, pricing strategy, and submission. This role requires a deep understanding of IT services and solutions, exceptional proposal writing skills, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver competitive and compliant bids.
Key Responsibilities:
Tender Management & Proposal Development:
- Identify, track, and assess relevant RFPs, RFQs, EOIs, and bidding opportunities across public and private sectors.
- Lead the preparation, compilation, and timely submission of compelling and compliant proposals.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders – sales, technical, legal, finance, and leadership – to gather input for bid responses.
- Analyze tender requirements and ensure alignment with company capabilities and offerings.
- Develop win strategies, including pricing, competitive positioning, and value propositions.
Documentation & Quality Control:
- Prepare high-quality technical and commercial documents, including executive summaries, technical write-ups, project plans, CVs, case studies, and pricing schedules.
- Ensure proposals meet formatting, compliance, and content standards as per client specifications.
- Maintain a library of reusable content and templates to streamline future proposal development.
Stakeholder & Process Management:
- Establish a bid management process and maintain a calendar of tenders and submission deadlines.
- Engage with partners or subcontractors for joint proposals, when applicable.
- Conduct post-submission follow-ups, clarifications, and bid evaluations.
Market & Risk Analysis:
- Monitor government and corporate procurement portals for relevant tenders.
- Conduct competitive intelligence and pricing analysis to strengthen bid positioning.
- Assess risks and compliance requirements associated with each tender.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- 12+ years of experience in tender management, proposal writing, or pre-sales roles, preferably in IT, software, or consulting.
- Strong knowledge of government and enterprise procurement processes.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience managing multi-stakeholder, cross-functional inputs under strict deadlines.
- Ability to interpret and respond to complex tender documents with clarity and strategy.
- Proficiency with tools like MS Office, SharePoint, Adobe Acrobat, and proposal management software.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to multitask.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, IT, Engineering, or related field.
- Experience in bidding for international tenders (e.g., UN, World Bank, EU, GCC, etc.).
- Familiarity with digital transformation, cloud, SaaS, and emerging technologies.
